I’m BBAAaaaaakk! Well, at least I hope to see everyone on the 14th. Thanks to all that sent their good wishes via phone, email and radio. It just goes to prove my contention that shooters are a great group of people that stick together and help one another.
I don’t have allot to report this month, other than it is now more important than ever to be registered to vote and then to go and do that. I don’t think I have to urge you in the right direction when you do make your choices other than to ask you to take a close look at local and statewide candidates too. The future of our Second Amendment Rights are at stake in spite of the Heller Supreme Court decision.
Although I wasn’t there at last months match to see it, we had over 60 guns go to the line. What a great turnout! Along with the above thoughts, it is clear that Pistol Silhouette Shooters are a loyal bunch in spite of weather, recession and high gasoline prices. Just one more observation is that more and more of you are shooting more than one gun and that tends to increase your enjoyment! Consider doing that on a regular basis, both scope and open sights. Oh, and don’t forget the Revolver Challenge. I know you have a wheel gun. Blow the spiders outta’ tha’ chambers and bring it with you next month. Maybe we could try a “Tres Banditos” one more time too? If you’ve never done that, it’s a “Hoot ta' shoot”! Ask me and I’ll explain.
Perhaps to kick off the Fall Season, would you like to have a “Swap & Sell” deal after a match? Please let me know what your thoughts are on that and when you want to do it. October or November comes to mind. Bring a card table and anything you want to sell or swap that’s shootin’ related. Powder, primers, boolits, other reloading stuff, holsters, sights, scopes etc. Sorry, no land mines or handgrenades.
Don’t forget the Scottish Rite Charity shoot on Nov. 15th., mark your calendar now for that event. Also, your help is needed for the October match. We need volunteers to help out with registration, statistics, tower/microphone and mop-up. Please let me know if you can help.
